Spanish Churros

I would say this is my favourite dessert! Churros is originated from Spain so it’s a traditional European dessert. This dessert is very easy to make and doesn’t like most baked cakes, it is fried and dip it into brown chocolate sauce, white chocolate sauce or milk sauce before eat; or sometimes just get some sugar on the top of the Churros without any sauce. There’s a café called Saint Churros located just beside the state liabary of Victoria. It sells several versions of Churros, and it always full of people there in the afternoon. It is my favourite place to go with friends hanging out for an afternoon tea. Plain love their Churros! But till last week I bought my first Churros machine, I can really start to make churros at home. So I tried it last Sunday and it was a successful try! And my friends said we no longer need to drive miles away to the city just to eat Churros now;)

Churros

Ingredients (for making 20-25 Churros)

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Sugar for taste

Instructions

  1. Starting by adding water, olive oil and salt into a pot
  2. Heat over high heat, stirring often until boiling, then remove from heat
  3. Add baking powder to a bowl with flour and then pour into the pot
  4. Beat the mixture until smooth, and set the batter aside to cool
  5. Spoon the dough into a Churros maker
  6. Heat some oil in a fry pan and pipe the dough into the oil (cut the dough using a scissor)
  7. Fry the Churros until golden brown
  8. Transfer the Churros on paper towers to drain out the oil
  9. Then transfer into the serving pan, sprinkle sugar on top and sided with the chocolate sauce (either brown or white) or as I used, the cream cheese.

And now the Churros is ready to serve!
